Ready? Spaghetti! GO! The 2024 Pasta Challenge sponsored by Barilla has officially launched and we’re off to the races. This is your chance to showcase your cheffin' skills and win amazing prizes along the way, including a grand prize of $1,000 and a month of FREE Barilla pasta for the winning store!
The 2022 Pasta Challenge, sponsored by Barilla has come to an end but the laughs, the amore and importantly the celebration of our incredible people that work hard every day to make East Side Mario’s so great will not be forgotten. Whether you attended in-person or tuned in to watch the live stream, a big GRAZIE for your enthusiasm and participation in this event. This event exemplified our values FUN, MANGIA and FAMIGLIA lived out through our teammates and franchisees.

We're happy to announce the regional finalists that will be battling head to head in our Recipe head office on June 28, 2022! Congratulations to everyone who's made it this far, we're sure to have an exciting showdown for the final challenge!
WHO :
Any East Side Mario’s teammate can participate — front of house or back of house!
WHAT :
Create an unforgettable pasta dish using Barilla pasta and ingredients found in the East Side Mario’s pantry. If you wish, you can bring in one new ingredient to include in your recipe. Full recipe forms are available below to help you get started.
HOW :
Battle it out in three rounds: within your own store, regional against other stores in your BDM region and a final national battle!
ROUND 1 - STORE BATTLE March 18 - April 14
Battle against your teammates to create the best dish. The deadline to submit your recipe is April 25!
The Prize - All stores that submit a recipe will receive a FREE case of Barilla pasta!
ROUND 2 - REGIONAL BATTLE April 15 - May 19
Your Business Development Manager and Brand team representative will cook all of your recipes and choose one finalist from each BDM's region. The six final recipes will be voted on nationally from May 6-26, 2024 - the top three recipes that receive the most votes will move on to nationals and will be announced May 28.
The Prize - $100 for all regional finalists
ROUND 3 - NATIONAL BATTLE June 25
Finalists arrive at Recipe’s Vaughan office, all expenses paid and will battle for the title of 2024 Pasta Masta led by our esteemed panel of judges. The Winning Dish will have the opportunity to be featured on a national promotional menu!
